Location & Access

Living Roots Lodge Cherrapunji sits in Tyrna village, a 5-minute walk from the start of the Double Decker Living Root Bridge trek. The lodge is next to the parking area, allowing guests to begin the hike early in the morning. From this point, guests can also reach Single Root Bridge, Blue Lagoon, and Rainbow Lake via the same trail.

Rooms & Accommodations

Each Deluxe Room at Living Roots Lodge has a private bathroom, a work desk, a TV, and an electric kettle. Rooms are cleaned daily and include linens, towels, and wardrobes. The lodge offers room service and free on-site private parking for all guests.

Dining & Food

The lodge serves home-cooked meals with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including local Khasi dishes available on request. Guests can order dinner and packed lunches for treks; breakfast is served early upon request. The rooftop open-air dining area provides views of the surrounding hills.

Owner Mr. Ban and his staff speak English and Hindi and can arrange guides for the Double Decker Bridge trek. The owner also gives local sightseeing tips and, when available, provides transportation to nearby landmarks. Laundry service is available, and the lodge accepts cash and UPI payments.

Mr. Ban personally guides guests on treks, sharing detailed knowledge about the region's flora, fauna, and Khasi culture. He helps guests plan itineraries to less crowded spots like hidden waterfalls and viewpoints. The lodge's staff ensures guests receive correct local prices for transport and guides.
